TOP STORIES
New Turf for NISC!
Nordic Soccer Club has been fundraising for a new turf field for our indoor facility. After ten long years using the same carpet, it is definitely time for an upgrade that all players, coaches, referees and parents will love. If you have been to NISC, you see how great the facility is. We've chosen the Nexxfield Pro E.2 Turf, rather than a carpet layout - the new turf will come in 1071 squares. Big congrats to our 2008B for winning the fundraiser competition and earning the FIRST ever game on the new turf!

VT Green Women's Exhibition Match
Over the summer, our local VT Green hosted an exhibition match for the women’s side, bringing in tons of talent and excitement for the women’s game. The team was coached by US Soccer Legend, Sam Mewis. We were proud to have plenty of Nordic representation on the team, including Coach Brad Agoos, Emma Wennar, Ella Gazo, Barrett Freeman, Brina Micheels, Ella Bankert and Coach Erin Murphy. Hopefully more will come next summer!
2010G Representing at Regionals
After winning their State Cup Final, the 2010G headed down to West Virginia to compete in the USYS Eastern Regional Championships. They competed against some of the strongest teams in the country and held their own - representing not only Nordic Soccer Club but the State of Vermont with strength. Great work, ladies!
Lions Cup Twin State Representation
Congrats to the VT Women on bringing the Lions Cup Twin State Trophy back to Vermont with their 1-0 win over New Hampshire this past summer. We were proud to have Avery Stockamore, Finley Barker and Brooks DeShaw represent our club, along with Coach Cait who was assigned as one of the assistant coaches for the game. Shoutout to Charli Kellaway, Rosie Perkinson, Raven McCray-Fay and Emily Thompson for also being selected, but unable to make the game. What a great way to cap off amazing high school careers!
Summer Camps!
This past summer, we hosted our summer long pre-season program which had flourishing numbers. Players came week to week, getting in their fitness, core, technical work, and tactical work to prepare for their upcoming middle school, high school, or college preseasons. Hard work pays off!
We also hosted a Wolverhampton Wanderers ID Camp with Coach Ty, and had a blast. All players had a true academy experience with these coaches, and are now able to take all of their new knowledge and apply it to the game. We are also proud to announce that some of our very own Nordic players were selected to travel to England to experience what it is like to be an academy player at an EPL club!
Last but not least, we hosted our Middle School Preseason Camp. The players had an opportunity to work hard, enhance their skills, and have some fun.
Fall VSL Season
We had a great fall season for the club, with 91 games played in Vermont (54W-10T-20L), not including our U8 programs. We also had 15 games played in Massachusetts, where our U10B and U11B competed in the fall NECSL League. Both teams competed well, with the U10B winning their flight for the season (2nd highest in the league).
Cauldron Cup and Other Tournaments!
A fun, spooky-soccer filled weekend! We had several teams travel down to Fort Ann, NY to compete in the Cauldron Cup. On top of the great soccer, there was also a costume and pumpkin carving contest! The following day, our teams participated in the VSA Fall Jamboree to cap off their fall seasons. Congrats to all teams on their success and growth over the last couple of months.
Our 2016B and 2014B traveled down to Cape Cod over Columbus Day Weekend and competed in the Seacoast Ocean Cup. The 2016B went undefeated, winning their flight in the final. The 2014B earned second place, going 1-1 in bracket play, falling 5-4 in PKs in the final.
