Nordic 2012 (U9) Program

This development soccer programme for our club's youngest team is the beginning of the 'Nordic player pipeline'.  Our staff of highly qualified coaches and educators introduce players to the technical fundamentals of the game while continuing to nurture and develop each players love for the game.

'Try Ins' – Nordic will be hosting 'try ins' for the 2020-21 season. New players will be invited to attend regular team practises, scrimmages, games and camps and to be introduced to the Nordic coaching staff and the Nordic soccer philosophy.  The Try In method allows coaches to get to know players on a more personal basis, and allows families the opportunity to decide if club soccer is a good fit for player and parent.  For more information on 'try ins' contact club DOC Jim Goudie at jim@nordicsoccer.org

Following Try Ins players will be sent appropriate paperwork to register for Nordic and initial payment is expected to accept your spot in our program within 2 weeks.

Fall Program – Practices and games will start in late August/early September with 2 team/age group practices per week (days/times TBA) at the Tree Farm soccer complex in Essex Jct and VSA Fall league games on Sundays. Players will also be given a third practise opportunity per week with our Technical Training sessions. This will be an 8 week season through mid to late October.

Winter season – The winter season kicks off our indoor season at the Nordic Indoor Soccer Center (NISC) at the CVE Expo in Essex Jct. Players will be placed on balanced and age appropriate teams to compete in our 5v5 league. Teams will consist of 7-8 players to maximize playing time for all players. Players will practice twice per week with their team/age group. NISC runs 3 indoor sessions through-out the winter: Session 1 is typically during November and December: Session 2 during January and February with session 3 during March and April. There will be breaks throughout the winter for school holidays and certain CVE Expo shows.

Spring season – All Nordic teams will start outdoor practices at the Tree Farm Soccer Complex in Essex Jct after the April school break. Teams will practice twice per week (Mon/Weds or Tues/Thurs) for 75 mins. We will compete in the Vermont Soccer League (VSL) in their U10 division. This league includes U10 teams from other local clubs and town teams. Games are typically on weekends throughout the state of Vermont. Teams will play in 3 tournaments throughout the spring season:  Memorial Day weekend we travel to MA;  the second weekend of June we play in the Target United Cup; and the third weekend of June is Nordic Cup.
